What Is “A Time of Remembrance”?
“A Time of Remembrance” is an annual memorial event held here at the Alexander & Royalty Funeral Home on the Saturday following Thanksgiving.
The service is intended to help families through their first holiday season after experiencing the death of a loved one.
We begin this special evening with music provided by Mercer County’s own The Master’s Servants and Chapel Hill. The songs they perform are always inspirational and comforting.
Following the music, Bro. James Harley takes time to share some words of encouragement and hope for those who attend.
Before the service comes to a close, staff and family at Alexander & Royalty Funeral Home present our Memory Tree. As each name is read aloud, family members of the deceased are encouraged to come forward and place their personalized ornament on the Memory Tree. We supply the ornaments, you do not have to bring your own.
This service is designed to help any person take time to remember a loved one who has died. We invite families who have experienced the death of a loved one and are facing their first holiday season.
We will personalize an ornament at the request of any family. It does not matter what year the person died or what funeral home the family used.

2009 Ice Cream Social A Huge Event!!!
On Saturday, June 6, 2009 at 4:00 p.m. the Sanders Family and Staff served up free ice cream on our front lawn. The turnout was overwhelming. We served over 20 gallons of Vanilla, Chocolate, Strawberry and (fan favorite) Sugar Free Butter Pecan! Now that's alot of ice cream. We want to thank the public for coming out to this annual event and we can't wait until next year! |

Scholarship Time Again!!

Applications for the One Thousand Dollar Alexander & Royalty Funeral Home Scholarships have been placed with the Guidance Counselor’s office at Burgin High School. Applications for the Bro. Marcus and Josephine Prather Memorial Scholarship have been placed with the Guidance Counselor’s office at Mercer County High School. Starting in 1996, Larry Sanders, Lee Sanders, and Tonya Sanders Schroeder; owners of Alexander & Royalty Funeral Home, have been awarding One Thousand Dollar Scholarships to a graduating senior from both Burgin and Mercer County High Schools to help with college expenses. “Our family at Alexander & Royalty Funeral Home realizes the importance of giving back to our community. By helping a deserving senior from each of the two high schools, we are showing our support for the families of Mercer County”, stated Lee Sanders of Alexander & Royalty. A total of thirty-three thousand dollars has been awarded over the past twelve years by the Sanders family.
