Jean Bottom, 68, widow of Benny Bottom, died Tuesday, May 13, 2008 at Central Baptist Hospital in Lexington. Born July 12, 1940 in Boyle County, she was the daughter of the late Raymond and Anna Mae Bugg Gibson. She was a member of Fellowship Baptist Church, a retired Hitachi employee and former Rand McNally employee.

Survivors include five daughters: Sandra Davis of Wichita, Kansas, Kim Bottom of Harrodsburg, Crystal Kiassi of Lexington, Vicki Guzman of London and Sheryl Vaught of Madison, Indiana; two brothers: Roger Gibson of Danville and Dennis Gibson of Bradfordsville; three sisters: Magdalene Bunton of Lexington, Mildred Sharp of Lancaster, and Linda Gibson of Perryville. She was preceded in death by her sister Joyce Day. She has six grandchildren, ten great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Graveside services will be 11:30 a.m. Friday, May 16, 2008 at the Spring Hill Cemetery with Bro. James Harley officiating. Shawn Gibson, Kevin Gibson, Mike Gibson, Bobbie Bunton, Brian Sims, and Ray Sivis will be serving as pallbearers and Rick Blaisdell and Taylor Lunsford will serve as honorary pallbearers.

Ruby King Kent, 75, of Louisville, died Tuesday, May 13, 2008 at the Baptist East Hospital in Louisville. Born October 14, 1932 in Burgin she was the daughter of the late Homer and Mary Harlow King. She was a homemaker, a Baptist, and enjoyed flowers and spending time with her grandchildren and family.

Survivors include two daughters: Debbie and her husband, Dan Handley of Ft. Myers, Florida and Lisa Kent of Louisville; two sisters: Mae Arnett of Louisville and Helen Claunch of Harrodsburg; her grandson Mark and his wife Jill Handley of Louisville; two great-granddaughters: Sydney and Madison Handley and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by one brother Elmer King.

A Celebration of Life Service will be conducted 2:30 p.m. Friday, May 16, 2008 at the Alexander & Royalty Funeral Home. Burial will be in Spring Hill Cemetery with Dan Handley, Mark Handley, Bradley King, and Bill Powers serving as active pallbearers and David Sims and Jerry Person serving as honorary pallbearers.

Kelly Dean Rice, 71, husband of Doris “Peggy” Merriman Rice died Monday, May 12, 2008 at the UK Medical Center in Lexington. Born March 2, 1937 in Lincoln County, he was the son of the late John Jackson and Julie Southerland Rice. He was a retired drywall contractor and owner of Rice Drywall, was a founding member of Shelby Baptist Church, a Kentucky Colonel and enjoyed fishing and reading.

Additional survivors besides his wife include sons: Ricky G. Rice and his wife Marie of Harrodsburg and Drew Rice and his wife, Cari of Harrodsburg and Robin Merriman and his wife Jackie, whom he raised as a son, also of Harrodsburg; Jacqueline Darlene Merriman, whom he raised as a daughter; five brothers: Billy Rice of Nancy, Dwain Rice of Liberty, Paul Rice of Moreland, Charles Rice of Corinth, and J.T. Rice of Junction City; his grandchildren: Megan & Ashley Rice and Kellie Renee Schaub, whom he thought of as a granddaughter; three great-grandchildren: Jacob, Jeremy & Jenna Schaub and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his three sisters: Alice Crow, Julie Ann Griffit, and Barbara Sue Rice and his half-brothers and half-sisters.

Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Thursday, May, 15, 2008 at the Alexander & Royalty Funeral Home with Rev. Morris Trayner, Father John Hall and Dr. Tommy Valentine officiating. Marshall Yeast, 95, widower of Mary Simpson Yeast, died Sunday, May 4, 2008 at the Harrodsburg Health Care Manor. Born August 10, 1912 in Washington County, he was the son of the late Tom and Mattie Hendren Yeast. He was a mechanic and a member of Cornishville Baptist Church, where he had served as a deacon and former Sunday school teacher. He was an avid fisherman and hunter.

Survivors include one daughter, Lavon Brown and her husband, James D. of Harrodsburg; two brothers: Ernest Yeast of Alton and Shirley Yeast of Cardwell; two sisters: Artie Ross of Washington County, and Annelle Ross of Harrodsburg; three grandchildren: Donnie (Denise) Burke, Vonna Whitenack and Robin (Tim) Kidd; two step-grandchildren: James Brown, Jr. and Steven Brown; eight great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by one daughter: Arvonna Smith; two brothers: Russell Yeast and Loys Yeast and one sister: Hadgie Ross.

Diana L. Mull, 60, wife of Harold Mull, died Sunday, May 4, 2008 at the James B. Haggin Memorial Hospital. Born January 6, 1948 in Brooklyn, New York, she was the daughter of the late Roy and Marion Nygard Abrahamsen. She had been a book keeper for the Internal Revenue Service and was co-creator of Hearts A Fire Outreach Ministry.

Besides her husband, Diana is survived by her daughter Kimberly Mull of Harrodsburg, one brother Keith D. Abrahamsen of Jackson, TN., four nephews and four nieces.

A Celebration of Diana’s Life will begin at 11:00 a.m. Friday, May 9, 2008 at the Alexander & Royalty Funeral Home with Pastor Victor Slatten officiating. Burial will be in Camp Nelson National Cemetery.

Kenneth L. Jackson, 54, husband of Clara Jackson and father of Shannon Lee Jackson, died Thursday, April 24, 2008 at the University of Kentucky Medical Center in Lexington. Born December 28, 1953 in Lexington, he was the son of Kenneth E. and Lee Ora Gibson Jackson. He had worked at IBM for twenty-four years and was the owner of Jackson Repair Shop. He was a NASCAR fan, and enjoyed mules, goat farming and model airplanes.

Additional survivors besides his wife, son and parents include is daughter-in-law, Dana Jackson of Charlotte, North Carolina; two sisters: Robin Cecil and her husband, Jimmy and Shelly Lynn, all of Harrodsburg and several nieces, nephews and uncles and aunts.

Elsie Riley, 86, widow of J.D. Riley, died Wednesday April 16, 2008 at her residence. Born May 23, 1921 in Mercer County, she was the daughter of the late William Valentine and Laura Beatley Medley. She was a homemaker and enjoyed yard work and gardening her flowers.

Survivors include five daughters: Shirley Cooley of Harrodsburg, Jean Dennis of Harrodsburg, Brenda Riley of Lexington, Betty Jo Finley of Junction City, and Debra Mink of Harrodsburg. One son Danny Riley of Florida, three sisters: Ann Hollingsworth of Florida, Mary Elliott and Judy Riley both of Lexington. One brother Ben Medley of Harrodsburg, twenty three grandchildren, thirty two great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews also survive.
She was preceded in death by three brothers Buck, Billy, and Bobby Medley.

Jeffrey Alan Mayes age 46 formerly of Harrodsburg, died Thursday April 10, 2008 at his residence in Piedmont, AL. He was born August 29, 1961 to the late Glave and Grace Sharp Mayes. A graduate of Harrodsburg High School and had attended Morehead State University. Jeff loved show horses and hackney ponies, associated with the Junior League Horse Show in Lexington for a number of years. He was an auctioneer. A member of Pioneer Baptist Church and he attended Dailey Street Baptist Church in Piedmont, AL. |
Survivors include his wife Carol Belinda Motes, a son Will Mayes of TN, paternal grandmother Mrs. Loraine S. Mayes of Harrodsburg, an aunt Nancy Jenkins of Harrodsburg, one uncle Wm (Bo) Sharp of Lexington and four cousins. One step son Gary Murphy, two step daughters Christal Murphy and Jonie Murphy, eleven step grandchildren and two step great grandchildren also survive. |

Evelyn Madeline Devine, 88, of Louisville, widow of Thomas Delmar Collard died Saturday, March 29, 2008 at the Norton Audubon Hospital in Louisville. Born August 16, 1919 in Mercer County she was the daughter of the late Henry C. and Laura Tyler Devine. She attended Campbellsville College and was a teacher for six years in Mercer County. She retired from the Federal Reserve Bank and was a member of their 25-Year Club. She was member of Eastern Parkway Baptist Church and more recently attended Audubon Baptist Church.

Survivors include one son: Thomas (Ardeana) Collard of Louisville; one daughter: Darlene (James) Jackson of Louisville; one brother: Jewell Devine of Harrodsburg; one granddaughter: Heather Collard and several nieces, nephews, neighbors and friends.

Born January 10, 1932 in Jessamine County, he was the son of the late Frank and Ada Conner White. He was a U.S. Army Veteran, a self employed fence builder and was a member of the Bohon Road Baptist Church where he was a former Deacon and R.A. Leader. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, and watching drag racing and NASCAR. |
Besides his wife, Mr. White is survived by two sons: Robert (Melva) White of Harrodsburg and Tony (Vickie) White of Lawrenceburg. One daughter Brenda (Leslie) Taylor of Harrodsburg, one brother Joe (Alice) White of Mercer County, two sisters: Dorothy Bugg of Danville and Anna White of Mitchellsburg. Ten grandchildren, fourteen great grandchildren also survive. |
He was preceded in death by one son Kenneth Cash White, a grandson Robert Evann White, one granddaughter Robin Michelle White, and nine brothers and sisters. |

Shirley Ann Keebortz, 70, died Wednesday, March 19, 2008 at the Richmond Health & Rehabilitation-Madison in Richmond. Born March 26, 1937 in Mercer County she was the daughter of the late Arthur and Matilda Dennis Keebortz. She served as First Lieutenant in the Philippines for the United States Air Force, attended the University of Kentucky and was a graduate of the Good Samaritan School of Nursing. She was a retired James B. Haggin Memorial Hospital Registered Nurse and lectured at the UK College of Nursing. Her hobbies included needle pointing, reading and collecting Christmas ornaments.

Survivors include one brother, Eulice (Geraldine) Keebortz of Lexington and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her three brothers: Lawrence, Joseph William “Buddy” and Walter Keebortz.

Bessie Louise Spurlock Burns, 91, wife of sixty eight years to Ambrose Burns, Jr., of Burgin died Saturday March 15, 2008 at her residence. Born April 1, 1916 in Clay County, she was the daughter of the late Steve and Alice Davidson Spurlock. She was a homemaker and a member of the Burgin Church of God.

Besides her husband, survivors include three sons: Jennings (Janice) Burns of Harrodsburg, Robert (Lillian) Burns of London, and Gary (Patricia) Burns of Tyner. One daughter Phyllis (Donnie) Irvin of Burgin, one sister: Viola Webb of Hope, IN., one sister-in-law Loretta Spurlock of Vevay, IN., nine grandchildren, eight great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews also survive.

She was preceded in death by ten brothers and sisters.

She was born in Mercer County on March 15, 1914 to the late Ezra and Lillie Alice Click Tatum. She was a 1934 graduate of Rose Hill High School, a homemaker, long time member of Central Baptist Hospital Auxiliary, a member of Deep Creek Baptist Church. She was also a retired antique dealer and had traveled extensively.

Survivors include a daughter Alice Jane (Charles) Bond, Ft. Worth, TX; a son David Brent (Sarah) Camden, Lexington; two sisters Beatrice Russell of Bardstown, and Jewell Best of Mercer County; a brother Ezra Tatum, Jr. of Mercer County; three grandsons, Calvin (Cindy) Bond of Keller, TX; David (Heidi) Bond of Temecula, CA, Andie Camden of Louisville, KY two granddaughters, Catherine (Scott) Tomlinson of Oklahoma City, OK, and Michelle (Dan) Eubank of Lexington, KY eleven great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a son Roger Camden, a sister Dorothy Noel and a brother Willie Tatum and two other siblings who died in childhood.

Charles Winfield Carr, 88, husband of Lynda Lee McGee Carr and former Mayor of the City of Harrodsburg, died Monday, March 10, 2008 at the Harrodsburg Health Care Manor. Born January 7, 1920 in Mercer County, he was the son of the late Sam and Era Coovert Carr. He was a mechanic and most recently he was a co-owner of Mercer Music Shop. He had served as a Harrodsburg City Commissioner from January of 1962 to July of 1970, was Mayor Pro-Tem in 1970 and served as Mayor from July of 1970 to December of 1973 and then was elected Mayor and served from January of 1978 to December of 1998. He was a member of Harrodsburg Baptist Church where he was a Deacon and member of the Faith, Hope and Love Sunday School Class. He was a member of the Lonesome Buckaroos music group and was a 12 year volunteer at the Thomson Hood Veterans Center in Wilmore. |
Additional survivors besides his wife include: one son: Sam (Kathy) Carr of Harrodsburg; one daughter: Charla (Roger) Pratt of Harrodsburg; one son-in-law: Gerald Hummell; three grandchildren: Jordan Hummell, Kevin Lampson and Spencer Carr; his two dogs: Misha and Mia and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his daughter: Carolyn Hummell, step-son: Lee Phillips; brother: Buford Carr and his sister: Elsie Farnav. |

Lona Mae Angel, 66, of Louisville, died Thursday, March 6, 2008 at the Norton Hospital in Louisville. Born February 3, 1942 in Rockcastle County, she was the daughter of the late Daniel and Cornielus Jones Angel. She was a homemaker, a Baptist, and enjoyed cooking, gardening red roses, and spending time with her family.

Survivors include her longtime companion Don Hodges, two sons: Jimmy (Lois) Deatherage of Perryville and Tommy Deatherage of Cocoa, Florida. Four daughters: Jannie Milburn of Cocoa, Florida, Lois (Billy) Whitaker of Burgin, Edith Cobb, and Carolyn Angel both of Indiana. One brother Hubert Angel of Perryville, and one sister
Almeda Webb. Thirteen grandchildren, several great grandchildren, and nieces and nephews also survive.
She was preceded in death by one son Russell Wayne Deatherage and one daughter Juanita Deatherage.

Born February 7, 1933, in Boyle County she was the daughter of late Ben and Sallie Lou Dorsey. She was a 1951 Graduate of Perryville High School, a member of Immanuel Baptist Church, a member of the Harrodsburg Lion’s Club where she volunteered several years at The Legend of Daniel Boone outdoor drama and was a volunteer for the Mercer County Senior Citizens.

Born November 13, 1920 in Mercer County she was the daughter of the late Howard and Sarah Robinson Shewmaker. She was a retired Mercer County School Teacher, a graduate of Eastern State College and was a member of Cornishville Baptist Church where she served as historian, teacher and treasurer. She was a also a member of the Kentucky Education Association and the Retired Teachers Association. She enjoyed reading and needlecrafts.

Edwin Harrison Green, 91, died March 2,2008 at home. He was born in Mercer County, Kentucky on September 8, 1916. His parents were Edwin R. Green and Anna Francis Watts. |
Survivors include his wife Naomi Frances ( Pierce ) Green, formerly of Burgin, whom he had been married to for 58 years, his son Edwin Harrison Green of Tacoma , Washington along with his wife Gail and their children Katelynn, Harrison and Jesse. Another son, Michael Thomas Green lives in Morehead, Kentucky with his wife Tara and their children Joshua and Moriah. He also has two other sons, Howard Lee Green and Herman Ray Green , both of whom resides in Charlotte,NC.
|
During World War II he served with the 454th Bombardment Group , piloting a B-24. He later served in the USAF where he retired after serving his final year of service , flying out of Guam and doing weather reconnaissance, often over the Sea of Japan.He retired at the rank of Major.
Upon his retirement from the Air Force in 1968, he moved to Charlotte, NC where he worked for Greenline Conveyor Company until 1981 as their company's pilot and as an office manager.

A memorial service will be held 2 PM Saturday, March 8, 2008 at Burgin Baptist Church in Kentucky followed by a grave site ceremony at Spring Hill Cemetery in Harrodsburg , KY.

Born October 10, 1960 in Mercer County, he was the son of the late William G. and Jeannette Ingram Dearing, Sr. Tony was Co-owner of Dearing’s Body Shop and was a member of the Deep Creek Baptist Church. He enjoyed car racing, car cruises, and restoring cars.

Besides his wife, Tony is survived by three sons: Darrell Dearing and Gary (Tasha) Dearing both of Harrodsburg, and Kipp Hurst also of Harrodsburg. Two step-sons: Steven Roberts and Justin Randolph both of Harrodsburg, two step daughters: Lisa Stratton of Danville and Samantha Randolph of Harrodsburg. Three sisters: Janice (Keith) Albright, Mary Bush, and Wanda (Michael) Infield all of Harrodsburg. One brother Dalton (Jennie) Hurst of Harrodsburg, one great-aunt Edith Dearing of Harrodsburg, seven grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews also survive. He was preceded in death by one brother William Dearing, Jr.

Baptist Church. Her hobbies included fishing, gardening, reading,
cooking, and spending time with her grandchildren.

McGrath, and John McGrath all of Harrodsburg. One brother James R. Corman
of Harrodsburg, two sisters: Dorothy (Garnett) Collier and Jane Corman

He was a retired self-employed carpenter, a U.S. Army Veteran of the Vietnam War, and a member of the Shawnee Run Baptist Church. Ted enjoyed collecting G-Scale Trains, playing his guitar and reading his Bible. |
Besides his wife, Ted is survived by his son Richard Dale (Sondra) Kirkpatrick of Cornishville, three daughters: Tabatha Jean (Brian) Lewis of Lexington, Mellissa (Alvin) Buck of Cornishville, and Elizabeth Ashley (Josh) Collier also of Cornishville. Mrs. Watts was a member of the Harrodsburg Baptist Church. She enjoyed watching U.K. Basketball and the Cincinatti Reds, cooking, crocheting, quilting, listening to music, and talking on her C.B. Radio. |
Survivors include her daughter Jeanetta (William) Lane of Harrodsburg, three sons: Stanley R. Watts, Earl (Anna) Watts, and Ronald D. Watts all of Harrodsburg. Besides her husband, she is survived by two sons: Jack Mattingly and Steve Mattingly, both of Harrodsburg. Two sisters: Nancy Yeast and Norma Martin both of Harrodsburg. Four granddaughters: Stephanie Rawlings, Shannon Mattingly, Danielle Sheperson, and Noelle Brodeur. Twelve great grandchildren also survive. Additional survivors other than her husband include one son: Marvin Lynn (Julia) Lawson of Interlachen, Florida; three daughters: Deborah (Hubert) Peavler, Darlene (Eddie) Bast, and Marlene (Ronnie) McGrath all of Harrodsburg; one sister: Elva Oldham, of Harrodsburg; six grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by one brother: Merlin Shewmaker; two sisters: Ethia Bussell and her twin sister: Marcella Burns.

Funeral services will be conducted 1:00 p.m. Saturday, February 16, 2008 at the Alexander & Royalty Funeral Home with Dr. Jason Clark officiating. Burial will be in the Spring Hill Cemetery with Mark Eastman, Adam Curtsinger, Matthew McGrath, Michael Ryan, Tommy Barnett, Stephanie McGrath and Patrick Bast serving as pallbearers and great grand-children serving as honorary pallbearers.

Alfred “Sergeant D” D’Ambrosio, 79, widower of Ella Hall D’Ambrosio, died Saturday, February 09, 2008 at the Harrodsburg Health Care Manor. Born August 31, 1928 in North Haven, Connecticut he was the son of the late Valentino and Jennie Desimone D’Ambrosio. He was a Retired National Guard Recruiter serving Mercer, Anderson and Franklin Counties, had served in the United States Army, Air Force and Navy and was of the Catholic Faith. He was a member of the VFW and the American Legion.

Survivors include two sons: Joseph D’Ambrosio of Harrodsburg and John D’Ambrosio of New Jersey; step-daughter: Julia Clark Harrod of Frankfort; one sister-in-law: Phyllis Ursini D’Ambrosio of New Haven, Connecticut and two grandsons: Jacob Clark Harrod and Michael John D’Ambrosio. He was preceded in death by his brother Alphonse Vincent and sisters, Mary and Carmella. |

T.C. Claunch, 66, husband of Patsy Cummins Claunch died Friday, February 08, 2008 at the James B. Haggin Memorial Hospital. Born February 12, 1941 in Mercer County, he was the son of the late Willie B. and Rosemary Devine Claunch. He was a U.S. Army Veteran of the Korean Conflict and the U.S. Army Reserves, the American Legion, a member of the Grace Baptist Church where he also served as Elder, was a Kentucky Colonel, was retired Supervisor and Department Head at Corning Glass after more than thirty four years, and was presently working at Alexander & Royalty Funeral Home. |
T.C. was very active in Mercer County Schools Sports, where he had also served on many committees with the school system and had been involved in Little League Basketball for sixteen years. He enjoyed watching his children and grandchildren play sports, especially Mercer Girls Basketball. |
Survivors other than his wife include one son Todd (Chris) Claunch of Harrodsburg, four daughters: Carmen (Chris) Souder of Harrodsburg, Marta (Brandon) Robins of Harrodsburg, April (Joe) Pellegrino of Wiesbaden, Germany, and Michelle (Lynn) Russell of Burgin. Eleven grandchildren: Chrystal, Thad, Tex, Catheryne, Carli, Connor, Tanner, Seygan, Alexa, Brody, and Megan. Several nieces and nephews also survive.
He was preceded in death by his daughter Kelli Claunch, half brother Tony Claunch, step-brother Carroll Hurst, and step mother Grace Russell Hurst Claunch.

Funeral services will be conducted 11:00 a.m. Monday, February 11 at the Alexander & Royalty Funeral Home with Bro. David Collier and Bro. Bill Eldridge officiating. Burial with Military Honors will be in Spring Hill Cemetery with Dion Long, Travis Long, Dantley Long, Jeff Anderson, Michael Anderson, Josh Devine, and Jimmy Ray Claunch serving as pallbearers.

Ruth Elizabeth Jones, of Harrodsburg, widow of Lucien E. Jones died Monday, February 4, 2008 at the Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center. Born August 15, 1950 in Harrodsburg she was the daughter of Mary Willis Young of Harrodsburg and the late Cassius Sanders. She was a homemaker and a member of the Greater Life Apostolic Church. Ruth enjoyed music, movies, shopping, talking on the telephone and reading her Bible.

Besides her mother, Ruth is survived by three daughters Margueritta Jones, Jessica Jones, and Linda Jones all of Harrodsburg; four sisters: Arthenia Douglas of Louisville, Tonya Young of Lexington, Francine Jones of Harrodsburg and Aquila Young of Harrodsburg; six brothers: Jeremiah Young of Versailles, Emmanuel Young of Danville, Mel Young of Danville, Arthur William Allen of Harrodsburg, Bill Allen of Harrodsburg, and Bobby Charles Allen of California. Ruth also leaves behind her two dogs Todd and Skylar.

Born September 9, 1935 in West Liberty, she was the daughter of the late Chester and Edith Goodall Frisby. She was a homemaker and a member of the Worldwide Church of God. She enjoyed square dancing, flower and vegetable gardening, raising chickens and her family. |
Survivors include her husband Lewis Kelly of Wilmore, three daughters: Angie and her husband Fred Herald of Mercer County, Sue Dunn of Wilmore, and Sharon and her husband Freddie Boswell of Mercer County. One son Randy Ervin of Mercer County, two brothers: Carrol Eugene Frisby of Burgin and David Frisby of East Bernstadt. Ten grandchildren, fifteen great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews also survive |
She was preceded in death by her husband James Travis Ervin, her son Rex Ervin, and her grandson Bryan Scott Boswell. |
Funeral services will be conducted 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, January 29, 2008 at the Alexander & Royalty Funeral Home with Pastor Ron Dick and Elder John Bailey officiating. Susie Marie Bow Anderson, 70, widow of Vernon Anderson, died Wednesday, January 23, 2008 in Anderson County. Born October 10, 1937 in Cumberland, Colorado she was the daughter of the late Stephen Tyler and Mary Lula King Bow. She was a babysitter and caregiver and a member of Burgin United Methodist Church where she was active in the United Methodist Women’s Group. She was active in the Mercer Senior Citizens and loved baking.

Survivors include two sons: Stephen Vernon Anderson of Lawrenceburg and Stanley Ray Anderson of Wellington; one brother: Stephen Tyler Bow, Jr. of California; six grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by two brothers Ralph Randall Bow and Russell Leon Bow.

One sister Ruby Milburn of Danville, three grandchildren, eight great grandchildren and two step great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by one daughter Joyce Ann Riley and three brothers Roy, Ralph, and Raymond Munday. |

Mr. Cecil Perkins, 86, of Milton, KY, formerly of Mercer County and Lexington, widower of Mildred King Perkins, died Monday, January 21, 2008 at the University of Louisville Medical Center. Born February 14, 1921 in Mercer County he was the son of the late Louis Melt and Frankie Ellen Meadors Perkins. He served in with the U.S. Army during W.W.II. and was a retired journeyman electrician. He was a member of Shawnee Run Baptist Church and attended Milton Baptist Church. He enjoyed bass fishing and was an avid U.K. fan.
Survivors include two daughters: Cecile Martin and her husband Doug of Lexington, Phyllis Gayle Davis and her husband Ferrill of Milton; three grandchildren: Ray Davis, Rob Davis and Jason Martin; and one sister: Mrs. Mae Simms of Burgin. Two granddaughters: Michelle Martin and Paige Davis preceded him in death.
