Mrs. Alice Rae Oldham Boswell, 65, widow of Jerry W. Boswell, Sr., died Friday, April 11, 2014 in Mercer County. Born April 24, 1948 in Lebanon, she was the daughter of the late William Franklin and Nancy Jean Cammack Oldham. She was a former Dietary Aide at Harrodsburg Health Care Center and had attended Fellowship Baptist Church. Alice enjoyed gardening and writing poems. She was very proud to have her poem “Take Your Time” published.
Survivors include one daughter: Patricia (Harvie) Moore of Harrodsburg, three sons: Mark (Lorrie) Boswell, Jerry Boswell, Jr., and Danny (Lori) Boswell all of Harrodsburg. One sister Angela Kay Underwood of Mercer County, two grandchildren: Tyler Boswell and Cortney Boswell, a step grandson: Earl Moore, three step great-grandchildren: Ryan Moore, Neheamiah Brandon, and Earl Sheldon. One great grandson Brantley Darland and several nieces and nephews also survive.
She was preceded in death by one daughter Cheryl Lee Boswell, one brother Charlie Oldham, and one step grandson Adam Moore.
Funeral services will be conducted 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, April 15, 2014 at the Alexander & Royalty Funeral Home with Larry Moore and Nelson Reynolds officiating. Burial will be in Bethel Baptist Church Cemetery with Tony Boswell, Harvie Moore, Mitch Lake, Larry Settles, Ray Graham, and Tyler Boswell serving as pallbearers.
Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Monday and after 7:00 a.m. Tuesday at the Alexander & Royalty Funeral Home.
